iDriveSim Racing
Well what a journey to date. I started iRacing in March 2020 as a way to practice for grassroots racing in real life. After a few years of learning & participating at Lakeside Park, Qld Raceway & Ipswich West Moreton Auto Club, virtual racing was the more viable option. I do really miss the club days at IWMAC though, such a supportive community.
iRacing has amazed me from the start. The ability to connect with drivers from all corners of the world is unreal! I started out in the dirt road category of rallycross, dirt is in my blood (thanks dad :). I proceeded to try all of iRacings categories, competed in various events & progressed up the licence system. I now focus on Rallycross & Supercars competition but not afraid to try something new. My goal from day one on iRacing was to bring Women in eMotorsports together. I am glad to say I have found a few & love competing with them. There is more planned for this chapter.
Virtual racing has taught me a lot about computer systems & equipment. When I dreamed up the iDriveSim Training project I had very little knowledge about the virtual world. I have assembled & disassembled equipment multiple times, learnt to design graphics in GIMP & now editing my website. I can’t believe it! I am so grateful for all who have helped & supported me along the way. There is still so much to learn & the computer updates are never ending. I can now do basic maintenance & troubleshoot to keep my simulator business operating.
I truly believe that simulated driving & racing has kept my driving skills sharp especially my reflexes. I have some amazing friends, even met them in real life haha. The fun times with clients & competitors are forever great driving memories.
